Writing without a Niche

Going nicheless? Strip that genre off and let your eclectic interests shine through! Join me in this topsy turvy world of writing.

By this point, I’m sure you’re all asking: what am I talking about? It’s pretty simple. Most all writing advice I’ve read falls under the category of “corner a market and stick with it.” This has been applied to everything from novels to blogs. While this advice has worked for many people, I am trying a new approach to the writing life. I am starting this blog to write about what interests me, no matter if it’s on writing the first day, health the next day, or a random YouTube video next week. I have many interests, and I suspect you do too. Why else would your blogfeed list be a mile long?

Let’s look at this from a slightly different angle. Our lives do not fit in well labeled compartments. Personally, I am a wife, mother, writer, waitress, daughter, homemaker, driver, and perpetual multitasker. In addition, I have many topics of interest, including wellness, tarot, religions, health, spirituality, anime, graphics design, writing, finances, relationships, fitness, and family. For me to attempt a blog that only focuses on one aspect of my life seems incredibly limiting. I want to share as many of my experiences and insights with the world as I am able. Therefore, I have chosen to start a new sort of blog, in the hopes that the twists and turns will keep you just as interested as the content itself.

Let me know what you think of this idea! I’d love to hear from everyone who stops by. Rest assured, more posts will be coming soon. Come back often, to see what new topics I cover next!

Love your argument, and laughing because I recently made the opposite decision! I’ve decided that without focus I’m just a rambling man… ;)

Glad you like it! I tend to have so many different projects going at once, and I have the need to switch off pretty often. Stick me on one and I get bored! LOL.
