After a monumental and brave effort, Adam Jackson has decided to end the Save the Studio fundraiser, and return everyone’s generous donations. Adam has decided to soley focus on his dear friend Liana Lehua, and let the studio go. I understand and totally respect his decision.
I want to thank each and every one of you who emailed, tweeted, and blogged about this great effort to help keep Podango Studios up and running. You were incredibly generous, giving of your time and money to help people you never met. Bravo, and well done.
In total, the amount pledged was $2645, in 24 hours. That is incredible! Some people are calling this the first social media telethon, since Adam streamed a live podcast for over 30 hours until others took the reigns. Perhaps it should be called a podthon? Either way, the power of the internet to do good and to help others has been proven. We can make a difference, and make new friends as a result.
I am still deeply moved by this entire story. We have rallied together to come to the aid of a person in need. We did it without reservation, and reached deeply to give of our time, money, and services. The power of the human spirit is great indeed.
Again, a huge THANK YOU to all who participated. You are all my heroes!
